Interview with Aguinaldo Ramalho, Sales Manager – Wire & Cable SIKORA AG
Mr. Ramalho, you have been working in Sales for SIKORA since 2017, initially you were in charge of Scandinavian, Portuguese and Spanish wire and cable customers. Since this year you are responsible for the business segment wire and cable. What do you like about your new job?
My remit has expanded, of course. In my new role, I am in constant contact with my international colleagues. In this way, I look after our subsidiaries, which now number 15. What I have always enjoyed is supporting customers in solving problems. Now there is also the cultural aspect. Each country approaches the topics differently, which is very interesting and varied.
SIKORA offers a wide product portfolio, not only in the wire and cable market, but also in other business areas. What solutions do you have specifically for your W&C customers?
The wire and cable market is still our most important market. We have grown up here and are closely intertwined with the industry. SIKORA is one of the few suppliers that can monitor every single step in the production of cables and wires. What distinguishes us beyond that is definitely our CENTERVIEW 8000, with which we precisely monitor the eccentricity or concentricity in the production process. But I can also highlight our X-RAY 6000 PRO X-ray measuring system, which helps our customers to precisely meet the required product specifications. Here, the demand has constantly increased in the last years due to the new legal requirements regarding flame resistance.
What technological innovations can customers expect in the coming period?
That is a very good question, but one that I would like to put on hold for a while. Personally, I am very much looking forward to the upcoming wire 2022, where we will present some new products that will expand our product portfolio. In addition, we will also be presenting some exciting further developments in order to meet increased customer requirements – and our own ideas – even better. You can look forward with anticipation and I look forward to presenting these to you in Düsseldorf.
What are your plans for the coming months?
I would like to accomplish an even closer exchange with our subsidiaries and our customers in order to get to know specific local needs better.
